James Edward Taylor, 73

Mr. James Edward Taylor, age 73 of Broxton, GA, passed away Thursday morning, July 15, 2021 at Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, GA. Mr. Taylor was born March 2, 1948 to the late William Junior Taylor and the late Vernell Batten Taylor. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Taylor.

Mr. Taylor, a native of Coffee County, was a truck driver for Drug Transport, Inc. for many years. He attended the First Assembly of God.

Survivors include:

His wife: Joyce Shrouder Taylor of Broxton, GA

Brothers: Rev. Jerrol Taylor of Helena, GA
Gary Taylor of Douglas, GA

Sisters: Clara Dowdy of Douglas, GA
Julie Cliett of Rebecca, GA
Laverne Batten of Tifton, GA
Sharon Cothern of Register, GA

1 Niece and Daughter: Jennifer Thomas of Broxton, GA

Granddaughter and Niece: Jaycee Thomas of Broxton, GA

Also several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many friends.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Jerrol Taylor and Rev. Byron Griffis officiating The interment will follow in Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton.

The family will receive friends, Saturday evening, July 17, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers for the service will be Donald Dowdy, Loran Shrouder, Billy Jo Shrouder, Wayne Shrouder, Tony Hicks and Carl Ragan.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
