Rev. H.L. Pharr Jr, 88

Rev. H.L. Pharr Jr, age 88, of Thomasville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Thomasville, Georgia. Rev. Pharr was born on July 22, 1933 in New Site, Mississippi the son of the late Henry Lee and Opal Brown Pharr Sr.

 

Rev. Pharr was a retired United Methodist minister, a member of Dawson Street United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Turner Pharr and, 2 brothers, Jimmy Pharr and Charles Pharr.

 

Survivors include 2 daughters, Lynn Willis (Terry) of Thomasville, GA and, Becky Martinez (Hector) of Tampa, FL; 2 sons, Stan Pharr of Thomasville, GA and, Cliff Pharr of Cumming, GA; 2 sisters, Sara Wilkerson of Jacksonville, FL and, Jane Fagan of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Caroline Pharr, Jackson Conoley and, Dylan Conoley; 2 special sisters-in-law, Peggy James of Douglas, GA and, Sherryl Bullard of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 13, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Campground United Methodist Church, 147 Campground Church Rd., Nicholls, GA 31554 with Rev. Charles “Buddy” Whatley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
