Sammy Tyrone Thomas, age 63, of Louisville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Thomas was born on June 25, 1958 in Douglas, Georgia the son of Vivian Stapleton Blackstone and the late Sammy J. Thomas.
Mr. Thomas worked as a carpenter for Local 283 and was a member of Central Baptist Church, Louisville, Georgia. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Thomas and a granddaughter, Mykaela Monge.
Survivors include son, Wesley Thomas (Melody) of Harlem, GA; daughter, Tasha Aguirre (Fredy) of Martinez, GA; 4 grandchildren, Sammy Aguirre, Eddie Aguirre, Hannah Thomas, Tyler Thomas; brother, Chet Thomas(Norm) of Marietta, GA; mother, Vivian Stapleton Blackstone of N. Augusta, SC.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scotty Lott, Bryson Lott, Gary Stapleton, Scott Perkins and Zach Wilkens.
Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.
