Jean Carol Alexander was born June 26, 1933. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Merritt and Lemmie Patton Merritt. She passed away at home on September 23, 2021, after an extended illness surrounded by her loving family. A private graveside service will be held on September 26 at 4:00 pm at Reedy Branch Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Elmer Alexander, four children: Debi Lott (Charley), Rick Lewis (Marissa), Vicki Lewis, Ronda Rentz (Dale); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Stewart Meeks (Maxwell), Brandon Meeks (Mary Jane, Blew, Eliana), Jordan Meeks, Carol Lyn Smith (Ben, Layda, Rayla), Kayla Parrish (Andrew, Drew, Kyleigh), Joe Lewis (Amber, Ryker, Raela), and Bobby Savoie. She was also blessed with a wonderful, loving extended family; Chase Lott, Sarah Brown (Jason, Weston, Emelia), Michael Lott (Jade, Ward), Caroline Douglas (Brandon, Vera, Della), Brenda Sue Stewart (John), Vaughn Stewart, Shane Stewart, Lucas Stewart, and Laura Ann Davis.
She was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Eastern Star and member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Reedy Branch Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Jean Alexander.
Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.
