David E. Lloyd, age 79, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Lloyd was born on August 23, 1942 in West Palm Beach, Florida the son of the late Frank & Billie Hughes Lloyd.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Evans Lloyd.

 

Survivors include three daughters, Jenny Lloyd Lunsford of Leesburg, GA, Lindsay Lloyd Barkwell (Bill) of Milton, GA and Suzanne Lloyd Padgett (Duane) of Lenox, GA; four cherished grandchildren, Davis Lunsford, Maci Padgett, Brady Padgett and Josslyn Barkwell; sister, Dina Futrell (Terry) of Dayton, TN; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

We would like to thank Bethany Hospice and especially his favorite nurse, Taylor, for the wonderful care they all provided. Also, special thanks to his amazing caregivers, Patricia Toombs and Sheena Arnold.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; Coffee Regional Medical Center Oncology Program 1101 Ocilla Road, Douglas, Georgia 31533.

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
