Robert Paul Knight, age 78, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at University of Florida Health, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Knight was born on September 29, 1943 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Clarence A. & Missourie Elizabeth Wooten Knight.

 

Mr. Knight worked as a Poultry Supervisor with Dutch Quality and was a member of Douglas Christian Fellowship Church of God, Douglas, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, C.H. Knight.

 

Survivors include his wife, Janice Knight of Douglas, GA; daughter, Angela Lynn Peterson (Farrell) of Douglas, GA; son, Christopher Paul Knight (Stephanie) of Douglas, GA; five grandchildren, Matthew Farrell Peterson (Kayla), Jonathan Ryan Peterson (Katie), Kristin “Brooke” Whitley (Ethan), Christopher Lane Knight and Caalan Luke Knight all from Douglas, GA; five great grandchildren, Madison Peterson, Allie Peterson, Amelia Peterson, Karaline Peterson and Tucker Peterson;  two sisters, Ada Nell Beasley (Homer) of Broxton, GA and Clara Knight of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Douglas Christian Fellowship Church of God.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Douglas Christian Fellowship Church of God with Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev. Heath Wingard officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Peterson, Jonathan Peterson, Cleon Knight, Jeff Beasley, Keith Newell and Andy Knight.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
