Sims Rutledge Vickers was born on April 4, 2007 and entered Heaven on Sunday, March 27, 2022

 

Sims is survived by his parents, Jed and Anne Marie Vickers, and his twin sister, Maudie Lee Vickers. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Guy and Anne Sims; his paternal grandparents, Marie and Kim Dockery; his Aunt Rachel and Uncle Reggie Wilkes; and his two first cousins, Kerbie and Karlie Wilkes. He is also survived and loved by a host of other family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Edward Vickers.

 

Sims loved life and others in large ways. He enjoyed hunting with his Dad and fishing with his Paw Paw. Sims attended Harris County Middle School. He was a member of the Harris County Shotgun Team. Sims was an active member of First Baptist Church of Columbus.

 

A funeral service for Sims will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 212 12th Street, Columbus, Georgia 31901. Family will visit with friends following the graveside in Parkhill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are George D. Copeland, Jr., Dr. Shane B. Darrah, Dr. Tom Ellison, Bill Green, Dr. David Levine, and Dr. William B. Simpson. Honorary Pallbearers are First Baptist Youth Group, Bear Elder, and Daniel Potter (Sims’ Youth Minister).

Flowers will be accepted, if one prefers to make donations please remit to First Baptist Church Columbus Youth, PO Box 828, Columbus, Georgia 31902.
