Mr. Kelly Adam Chaney, age 58 of Douglas, GA passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack while performing his job as a truck driver for ML Trucking on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Newnan, GA.

Mr. Chaney was born May 22, 1963, in Jacksonville, FL. Kelly loved his family dearly, as well as being a lifetime fisherman. In fact, after a motorcycle accident, he would have his mother drop him off at the fishing hole with his leg still mending from surgery. He would gladly take anybody or go without anybody, as long as he was fishing. He also loved his turkey shoots and he was a very good shot. His freezers stayed stocked from meat prizes and he often won enough money to pay for the next turkey shoot.

Kelly was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend. He was a wonderful storyteller, as he LOVED to talk. He went through more truckers’ headsets than you could count. But he was also a warm-hearted listener and cared for his family and friends deeply. If someone needed something, he would do what he could to help in any way.

He was survived by a daughter Angela Galm and her husband Raymond Galm and a son Nicholas Helm, mother Cleo Adams Chaney, brother John Damon Chaney, Jr, sister Phyllis Chaney and many cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, John Damon Chaney, Sr. his loving wife of 36 years Deborah Reynolds Chaney and his brother James Darrell Chaney, Sr.

Memorialization is by cremation. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, or Coffee Cause for Paws and Animal Welfare Organization. There may be a celebration of life for Kelly and Deborah to be determined at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
