George Edward “Eddie” O’Steen, 83

Mr. George Edward “Eddie” O’Steen, age 83, of Willacoochee, GA, passed away Sunday morning, May 1, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. O’Steen was born November 20, 1938 to the late Harry Lee O’Steen and the late Rita Gertrude Maulden O’Steen. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Howard O’Steen, Wayne O’Steen and 1 Sister: Margaret McClendon.

 

 

Mr. O’Steen, a native of Atkinson County, was an insurance agent for 23 years with United Insurance Company of America. He was also a member of Mora Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. O’Steen was a veteran of the United States Army.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

His Wife of 59 Years: Evelyn Rose Courson O’Steen of Willacoochee, GA.

 

 

2 Children: Gregory Edward O’Steen and Wife Greta of Douglas, GA.
Kathy Delane Simmons and Husband James of Climax, GA

 

 

3 Sisters: Harriett Carter and Husband Linton of Alma, GA
Lynn Chaney and Husband Edward of Douglas, GA
Grace Simmons and Husband Jerry of Wray, GA

 

 

1 Brother: Van O’Steen and Wife Carmen of Lake Placid, FL

 

 

 

1 Sister-In-Law: Lynn O’Steen of Douglas, GA

 

 

4 Grandchildren: Garrett O’Steen of Nicholls, GA,
Gavin O’Steen of Douglas, GA
Gabe O’Steen of Savannah, GA
Kiersten Simmons of Tallahassee, FL

 

 

2 Great Grandchildren: Memphis and Huxley.

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends.

 

 

The graveside service and interment will be held Saturday May 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mora Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Harper and Rev. Bobby Fussell officiating.

 

 

Mr. O’Steen will be placed in Mora Missionary Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at which time he will be taken to the cemetery for graveside services.

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
