Mrs. Dorothy Mae Gaskin passed away on July 8, 2022. She was born on March 8, 1932 in Coffee County to the late Matilda V. Goddard and the late Mr. Thomas Goddard. She was educated through the Coffee County School System. 

 

She was a devoted and loving mother of six boys and four girls. Mrs. Gaskin was a faithful and dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Robinson. 

 

She was proceeded in death by her husband: Lewis Harvard; four sons: Carlton Gaskin, Jacob Matthew Gaskin (Catherine), Joseph Dewayne Gaskin, and Larry Gaskin; one daughter: Ruby Wilcox; three grandchildren: Jesse Lanier Wilcox, Tiffany Gaskin, and Patrice Daniel; one brother: John Henry Goddard. 

 

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons: Robert Goddard Gaskin and William David Gaskin; three daughters: Gloria Gaskin George, Brenda Faye Speed, and Andrea Devon Perry; twenty-two grandchildren: Marvin Paulk, Melissa Gaskin, Jason Gaskin, Helena Gaskin, Aveia Jackson, Amanda Baker, Sylvia Tomblin, Terrance Speed, Dumonta Perry, Jeremy Speed, Ashley Speed, Kenneth Swinson, Gregory Swinson, Michael Paulk, Kahifa Gaskin, Derrick “D.P” Powell, Dedrick Fussell, Al Lockhart, Casey Gaskin, Christy Gaskin, Destiny Sims, and Shardon Cook; one son-in-law: Jesse Wilcox, one daughter-in-law: Lillian Gaskin, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

 

Harrell’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
