Mr. Virgil Batten, age 84, of Douglas, GA, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at The Landings in Douglas, GA, following an extended illness. He was born on May 18, 1939, to the late Mr. Milton Batten and Mrs. Ellen Merritt Batten.
Survivors include: One Daughter; Karen Batten of Douglas, GA, Three Brothers; David (Nancy) Batten of Nicholls, GA, Lonnie (Elizabeth) Batten of Douglas, GA, and Donald Ray (Odalina) Batten of Douglas, GA, One Sister; Bonnie Sutherland of Nicholls, GA, Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by Wife: Faye Batten Father; Milton Batten, Mother; Ellen Merritt, Two Brothers; Carlton Batten and Ceaford Batten.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 6 PM to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 11 AM at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery.
