Omer Carl Peterson Jr. (“Carl”), age 63 and a resident of Debary, FL, passed peacefully while surrounded by his children at 5:40 AM on July 12, 2023 following a short illness.

Carl was born in Douglas, GA to Omer Carl Peterson Sr. and Anna Ruth Hand Peterson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Robin Peterson. He is survived by his daughter Aleisha McKeeby and her husband Michael, son Luke Peterson and his wife Jessica, three grandchildren Brooke Adyson McKeeby, Madison Shay McKeeby, and Raelyn Mackenzie Peterson, sister Valerie Peterson-Brown and her husband Joe, and a loving extended family.

Carl graduated from Coffee County High School and later from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with a degree in Business Administration. He held many leadership roles during his professional career and worked at PCC Airfoils in Douglas, GA, Chromalloy Castings in Tampa, FL, and later retired from Siemens Energy after leading a last major project to build a new foundry for Advanced Airfoil Components.

He was a lover of music and a talented trumpet player (both in high school and college). He also enjoyed science and technology, photography, model trains, fishing, drag racing, and chess. Carl was a true intellectual and he loved to teach and mentor those around him.

The interment will follow in Satilla Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at the Traders Cove Clubhouse (132 Sher Lane, Debary, FL 32713) for friends and family to gather and share stories of Carl’s life on August 12, 2023 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to The Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinsons.org.
