Charly Lee Burkes, 64

Charly Lee Burkes, affectionately known as “Poola,” was born on September 23, 1958 in Bacon County to the late Bobbie Ruth Burkes and the late J.D. Pratt. 

 

 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Angie Louise Riles; his parents, Bobbie Ruth Burkes and J.D. Pratt; and his father figure, John Wesley Suggs. 

 

 

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: Kezia (Kendall) McDuffie, and Latrenda (Don) Riles; one son: Michael Riles; three sisters: Dianne Brackins, Sebrena Burkes, and Andrea (Mike) Pratt Wiley; six brothers: Earl Cunningham, Cedric Suggs, John Suggs, Calvin (Jennette) Buckley, Jody (Annie) McMillan, and Anthony William; two aunts: Lula Johnson, and Bobbie Ann Burkes; one uncle: Robert (Juanita) Burkes; five grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; special friend: Shawana Simpson- Bonaparte; three special nieces: Precious Brackins, Toni Overstreet, and Asia Burkes; special nephew: Deviante Overstreet; and a host cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

 

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Harrell’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Tanner officiating. 

 

 

Harrell’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
