The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce was delighted to host the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Little Peaches Play Cafe on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The much-anticipated event marked the culmination of dedicated efforts by  mother-daughter duo, Kelsey Kobee and Joell Smith, as they proudly introduced their innovative establishment to the community.

Little Peaches Play Cafe, nestled at 733 Bowens Mill Rd SW Suite 2 in Douglas, presents an all-new concept that combines family-friendly entertainment with a touch of gourmet indulgence. Boasting a charming play area for children and a gourmet coffee bar for parents and guardians, the cafe is set to become the go-to destination for quality family time.

Operating hours are designed to accommodate busy schedules, ensuring accessibility for everyone. On Tuesday through Thursday, doors are open from 10 am to 4 pm, Fridays extend the fun until 6 pm, and Saturdays offer playtime from 10 am to 3 pm, unless the party room is booked. The cafe remains closed on Sundays, except for exclusive private birthday parties that can be scheduled in the inviting party space. Little Peaches Play Cafe will update their Saturday hours each week on their Facebook page Little Peaches Play Cafe, as hours may vary due to private parties.

The ribbon-cutting event was graced by a diverse audience, reflecting the enthusiasm the community holds for this vibrant addition. Chelsea Preston, Member Relations Director at the Chamber, commenced the ceremony by extending a warm welcome to all attendees and congratulating Kelsey and Joell on their exciting new venture. Pastor Chris Watson of GracePointe Church, who pastors Kelsey and Joell along with their families, delivered a heartfelt invocation, blessing the new endeavor.

Mayor Tony Paulk addressed the audience on behalf of the city of Douglas, emphasizing the importance of embracing every step of the journey towards greatness by valuing even the smallest contributions. Dr. Tracy McClelland, Chamber of Commerce Chair, took the stage to express gratitude to Joell and Kelsey for their partnership with the Chamber, and for their investment in both Douglas and Coffee County.

The grand opening also included a delightful moment where Kelsey Kobee took time to provide insights into the cafe’s coffee and snack bar menu, as well as details about party scheduling.

Amidst a joyous atmosphere, Kelsey and Joell proudly cut the ribbon, surrounded by their cherished family, close friends, and representatives from the local business community. The ceremonial ribbon cutting marked the official launch of Little Peaches Play Cafe, symbolizing the beginning of an exciting journey dedicated to nurturing connections and fostering shared experiences.
