Mrs. Bari Lee Sims, age 63 of Douglas, GA, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 11, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Sims was born on August 23, 1959, in Rome, GA, to Mr. Thomas Alexander Lindsey, and Mrs. Jenny Lee Cowart Lindsey.

 

 

Survivors include: Beloved Husband, John Scott Sims of Douglas, GA; One Daughter, Amy Lee (Shafton) Thomas of Guyton, GA; One Son, Lucas Scott (Gracie) Sims of Hazlehurst, GA; Three Grandchildren, Olivia Sims, Kallie Rae Thomas, and John Luke Sims; Two Sisters, Becky (Craig) Smith of Rome, GA, and Traci (Keith) Fowler of Cumming, GA; Father, Mr. Thomas Alexander Lindsey of Rome, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Jenny Lee Cowart Lindsey.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 12PM until 2PM, at First Baptist Church of Douglas, GA. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Douglas, GA, at 2PM on Friday with Bro. Don Hattaway, Bro. Shep Johnson, and BJ Holliday officiating. Internment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

 

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Douglas or the South Georgia State College Baseball Foundation.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
