Virgil Howard Lee, age 78, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. He was born on October 21, 1945, in Coffee County Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Prince Albert Lee and Mrs. Ada Kirkland Lee.

 

 

His survivors include: His Beloved Wife; Mary Elaine Johnson Lee of Douglas, GA, One Son; Wallace David Lee of Douglas, GA, One Daughter; Melissa Ann (James) Edge of Douglas, GA, One Step-Daughter; Kay (Marcos) Mejia of Douglas, GA, Four Brothers; J.V. Lee of Nicholls, GA, Donnie Lee of Nicholls, GA, Prince Albert Lee Jr. of Nicholls, GA , and Carlos Lee of Jacksonville, FL, Three Sisters; Christine Lee Brown of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Lois Nettles of Palatka, FL, and Geraldine Lee, Seven Grandchildren; Alyssa (Avery) Taylor, Aryn Lee (Kody) Burch, Hannah (Eutiquio) Guzman, Tony Bustos, Ethan Lee, and Cameron Lee Seven Great-Grandchildren, along with several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by: One Son; Mitchell Lee, Father; Prince Albert Lee and Mother; Ada Kirkland Lee.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6PM until 9PM.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Chatterton Church in Nicholls, GA, at 4PM, with Bro. Brandon Burnam officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery.

 

 

Active Pallbearers will include: Lane Bailey, Colt Bailey, Tracy Carter, Gene Lee, Cody Burch, Andy Spivey (Boo), James Edge, Ethan Lee, Travis Kight, David Hursey, and Cameron Lee.

 

 

Honorary Pallbearers include: The staff of the Fern Bank, and The Coffee County Road Department.
