Two former Coffee Trojan baseball players saw their seasons end a little over a week ago in Milledgeville at the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. University of North Georgia Nighthawks senior pitcher Wes Lott and sophomore second baseman Brady Skipper finished strong 2024 campaigns and were a factor in helping lead the Nighthawks to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

For Lott, the conclusion of the 2024 season brings his baseball career to an end. After playing two years at South Georgia State College, he signed with UNG and enjoyed a successful two years in the Peach Belt. For his career, Lott was 13-4 with a 4.04 ERA in 140 1/3 innings over 28 appearances (27 starts). He threw three shutouts, five complete games, struck out 90, and walked 30.

In 2024, Lott was 7-1 with a 4.36 ERA. He threw 64 innings in 14 appearances (13 starts). He tallied one complete game and posted 38 strikeouts to 13 walks.

As a sophomore, Skipper really saw his stock rise for the Nighthawks. He had a solid freshman campaign but enjoyed a breakout year in 2024. He became a valuable member of the UNG squad both offensively and defensively. This year, he hit .303 with seven home runs, 45 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. He walked 23 times and finished with a .384 on-base percentage. Skipper was reliable at second base and posted a .960 fielding percentage.

The Nighthawks were 32-19 overall and 17-10 in conference play.
