Mr. James Murphy Harris, age 49, of Ambrose, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 10, 2025 at his residence.

James was born on October 20, 1975 in Orlando, Florida to Johnny Mitchell Vaughn and the late Patricia Dianne Hawkins Harris. He was a construction worker specializing in concrete work for R. Construction in Alabama as well as serving the United States for a period of time in the National Guard. In his spare time he enjoyed deer hunting.

James is survived by 2 daughters: Marissa Carol Morgan of Grove Hill, Alabama, Destany Burton of Birmingham, Alabama; 2 grandchildren: Gabe Lee Morgan and Graycelyn Faith Morgan, both of Grove Hill, Alabama; 1 brother, Jason Vaughn and wife, Kaci, of Douglas, Georgia; step-mother, Carolyn Vaughn of Douglas, Georgia; several step-brothers and step-sisters along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Memorialization was by cremation and family and friends gathered to honor James on Saturday evening, April 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be shared with James’ family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

James’ arrangements were entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
