It was a beautiful morning to commemorate the start of a new chapter for a beloved local business as the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for El Rincon Mexican Restaurant and Bar on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Established in 2012, El Rincon has grown over the past 13 years into a staple of the Douglas dining scene. Family-owned and rooted in tradition, the restaurant has now entered an exciting new era of growth and development. Still under the same ownership, El Rincon proudly welcomed Eduardo Elox as their new Manager of Operations, who will oversee the daily operations and guide the restaurant forward.

A notable new addition to the business is a full-service bar, expanding the menu and atmosphere for patrons to enjoy. This enhancement underscores El Rincon’s commitment to continued innovation while maintaining the heart of what has made them a community favorite for over a decade.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome from Chelsea Preston Graham of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, followed by a heartfelt blessing over the business by Luciana Morales. Representing the Chamber, Chelsea expressed appreciation for El Rincon’s longstanding partnership and shared best wishes on behalf of the Chamber Board and Staff.

City of Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk congratulated the El Rincon team, offering thanks for their investment in the city and their contribution to the quality of life in the community. His remarks were followed by a touching dedication from Maria Gonzales, one of the restaurant’s owners. She reflected on El Rincon’s 13-year journey, shared the history of the restaurant, and expressed deep gratitude to the loyal customers and community who have supported them throughout the years.

With family, friends, and community leaders gathered, the ribbon was cut and the celebration officially began—kicking off a joyful new season for El Rincon Mexican Restaurant and Bar.

El Rincon is located at 950 Bowens Mill Rd SW in Douglas, GA, and can be reached at 912-331-1419. The Chamber and community look forward to many more years of flavorful food, festive gatherings, and continued success for El Rincon.
