John Quincy Taft Jr., age 66, of Nicholls, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA following an extended illness. He was born on August 1st, 1958, the son of Mr. John Quincy Taft Sr. and Mrs. Barbara J. White Taft.

His survivors include: two sons; Jonathan (Marcie) Harper of Fitzgerald, GA and James Harper of Jacksonville, FL, two daughters; Julia (Victor Sanchez) Taft, of Douglas, GA and Wendy Taft of Douglas, GA, one brother; Gordon (Mona) Taft of Westgreen, GA, one sister; Gloria Herbert of Douglas, GA, special friend; Cheryl Boyd, twelve grandchildren; Clarissa Sanchez, Alyssa Avery, Nichole Taft Avery, Hector Garcia, Serenity Harper, Lillian Harper, Jonathan L. Harper, Giovani Garcia, Logan Garcia, Angel Garcia, Anali Garcia, and Keiran Garcia, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: John Quincy Taft Sr., and mother; Barbara J. White Taft.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at Saving Grace Ministries in Douglas, GA, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Little Utah Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Julia Taft, Jonathan, Austin Burch, Victor Sanchez, Johnny Perez, Patrick Coven, and Ramon Garcia.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
