7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 (New International Version)

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Mr. Scott Dale Watson, age 64, of Douglas, Georgia.  He peacefully departed on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family, following an extended illness.

Scott was born October 11, 1960 in Camden, N.J. to the late Charles Watson, and the late Ruth Vogel Watson.  He was an air conditioning installation technician, before becoming an HVAC instructor at Wiregrass Technical College where he taught for 15 years.  He will long be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, a Good Samaritan, a great and caring teacher, and a loyal friend.  He would always help anyone in need.

Scott leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Kathleen McCarren Watson of Douglas; 2 sons: James Scott Watson and Jesse Watson both of Douglas, Georgia; 1 Grandson Joshua Watson of Douglas, Georgia; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and extended family.

A memorial service will be held to honor Scott’s life on Friday, June 6th 2025, at 2:00 P.M in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be shared with Scott’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.
