Monday afternoon, Coffee County firefighters responded to a structure fire at lot 14 of a mobile home in a mobile home park off Namon Road. There were people inside the home at the time of the fire but everyone escaped unharmed.

If you’re standing in front of the home and looking at the front door, the fire began in the left side in one of the bedrooms. By the time firefighters arrived, that section of the home was engulfed in flames and moving toward the rest of the house. Fire crews arrived on the scene and were able to get the blaze under control and keep it from spreading into the kitchen. Within 20-25 minutes, the fire was under control and nearly extinguished.

What exactly caused the fire remains unknown. Tuesday morning, investigators and representatives from the American Red Cross were on the scene.
