Cynthia Diane Jewell, age 60, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2025, at her residence. She was born on September 20th, 1964, the daughter of the late Harley Gillespie and the late Lois Jeanette Morgan Gillespie.

Her survivors include: two sons, Justin (Shasta) Taft of Douglas, GA and Wesley Taft of Douglas, GA; one daughter, Dianna Michelle Zuniga of Douglas, GA; seven grandchildren, Alex Hill, Rafael Zuniga, Brandon Zuniga, Jeremy Zuniga, Nevaeh Taft, Aubri Taft, and Jaxon Taft; one great grandson, Greyson Hill; three sisters, Glenda Velarde, Wanda Hollinger, and Eva (Timothy) Weldon; one sister-in-law, Carrie Smith; special friend, Mario Calderon; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ruben Jason Jewell; father, Harley Gillespie and mother, Lois Jeanette Morgan Gillespie.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, at The Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Bobby Pope and Rev. Brantley Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Alex Hill, Justin Taft, Rafael Zuniga, Brandon Zuniga, Jeremy Zuniga, Matthew McElhaney, and Jaxon Taft.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
