Mrs. Melinda Jill Harrell Corbitt, age 64, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Thursday evening, July 17, 2025 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Melinda was born July 31, 1960 in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Vernon Harrell and the late Jacqueline Graham Harrell.  She was a machine operator at Elixir Extrusions of Douglas, Georgia for many years, and she was of the Baptist faith.

Melinda is survived by a son, Scott Ricketson and wife, Tami, of Nicholls, Georgia; a grandchild, Troy Roberts and wife, Amanda, of Crestview, Florida; a brother, Jim Harrell and wife, Pam, of Douglas, Georgia; 2 sisters: Julie Mashburn of Claxton, Georgia and Janet Nolan of Douglas, Georgia; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Along with her parents, Melinda was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Corbitt; a grandson, Anthony Roberts; and a brother, John Harrell.

Memorialization will be by cremation and no service is scheduled at this time.

Melinda’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. of Douglas, Georgia.
