Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s leading community improvement nonprofit organization, has presented the Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee with its 2025 President’s Circle Award. The President’s Circle Award recognizes exemplary performance by certified affiliates of Keep America Beautiful in creating clean, green, and beautiful communities.

The President’s Circle Award, presented by Keep America Beautiful (KAB), is a national honor awarded to local affiliates that recognizes exceptional performance, dedication to KAB’s mission, and the development of strong partnerships. These achievements are assessed through the committee’s successful execution of the Annual Community Appearance Index, as well as the financial impact and effectiveness of programs aimed at reducing litter, enhancing recycling efforts, and beautifying community spaces.

“We are so excited to receive this recognition,” says Alyssa Fussell, KDB Executive Director. “It takes great community partnerships and awesome volunteers for our events to make each a success. We appreciate all the support from our local government, civic organizations, businesses, volunteers, and community partners.”

In the 2025 fiscal year, Keep Douglas Beautiful participated in the Clear Your Clutter Event, Community Index, Great American Cleanup, Tire Amnesty Week, Junk Free Week, Wings and Things Festival, Board Retreat, and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Conference. Over 100 volunteers participated in cleanup events from civic organizations, such as Ambitious Young Men, CHS NJROTC, City of Douglas employees, Inframark/ESG Operations employees, CHS Clubs, Coffee Middle School Soccer Team, Douglas-Coffee County Teen Court, Douglas Lions Club, Douglas Mayor’s Youth Council, Douglas Masonic Lodge, and many individuals.

To become involved with the Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee, contact Alyssa Fussel or Destiny Paulk at (912) 383-0277, visit the website cityofdouglasga.gov, or follow us on Facebook @KeepDouglasGABeautiful.
