A Douglas man who was not allowed on the property of a local business was arrested after he took his girlfriend to work there on the afternoon of October 31, 2025.
According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, Rogelio Lopez, 40, of Douglas, had been trespassed from a restaurant. The report says that Lopez was a former employee of the business. Around 5 p.m. on October 31, he took his girlfriend to work there and left.
When officers arrived at the business, they saw video footage showing Lopez drop someone off in the parking lot and leave. Officers went to his home on Big Lake Drive and spoke to him. According to the report, Lopez said he didn’t know he had been trespassed from the parking lot. He said he thought that he was only trespassed from the inside of the restaurant, according to the report.
Officers went to arrest him, the report says, but Lopez slammed the door of the home and locked it. Other officers were on the scene and they surrounded the home. Eventually, an officer talked Lopez out of the home and he was placed under arrest.
Lopez was charged with criminal trespass and taken to the Coffee County Jail. He was later released.
