Christopher Allen Dean, 45, of Douglas, was jailed on aggravated assault charges after an alleged domestic dispute on November 4, 2025. Two days later, on November 6, Dean was also charged with criminal damage to property after he allegedly caused over $20,000 in damages to a cell at the Coffee County Jail.
According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, on November 4, two deputies responded to a Highway 221 North address in reference to a welfare check. When they arrived, they found that Dean had been displaying erratic behavior and had been arguing with his girlfriend. During one of their arguments, Dean allegedly grabbed the victim by her throat. The victim had marks on her neck consistent with being grabbed in such a fashion, according to the report.
Dean was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail. While he was there, he allegedly began displaying self-destructive behavior and was placed in a protective cell. While in the cell, another report says that he “ripped the flooring from the cell and smeared feces throughout the area.” Ultimately, Dean allegedly caused over $20,000 in damages to the cell.
Officers added criminal damage to property charges to Dean’s list of charges. He remains incarcerated in the Coffee County Jail.
