A traffic stop for failure to dim headlights landed a Douglas man in jail on illegal drug charges.
According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, on March 5, 2026, at 11:20 p.m., two officers were traveling on Pine Street near South Coffee Avenue. The officers noticed a vehicle traveling on South Coffee Avenue with its high beams on. The officers initiated a traffic stop on the driver, identified as William Ronald Harrell, 39, of Douglas.
During the stop, officers found suspected methamphetamine in the car. They also found that Harrell’s driver’s license was suspended due to failure to pay child support. Harrell was charged with possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Coffee County Jail. He has not been released.
