Margie Hodges Brigmond, age 88, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at her residence while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1938, the daughter of the late Mr. James Roach and the late Mrs. Martha Roach.
Her survivors include: one son, Lealond (Sharon) Hodges Jr. of Port Charlotte, Florida; one daughter, Marie (Jimmy) McDaniel of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren, Lealond K. Hodges III, Nickie Webb, Angela Lee, Jason Hodges, Ashley Hodges, Adam Hodges, Jimmy (Heveyn) Barber, Kristin (Brad) Burnam, Kevin McDaniel, and Mandi McDaniel; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: first husband, Lealond K. Hodges; second husband, Herman Brigmond; two sons, James A. Hodges and Cecil Hodges; along with several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Jason Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Douglas Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include: Lealond K. Hodges Jr., Lealond K. Hodges III, Lealond K. Hodges IV, Jimmy McDaniel, Jimmy Barbar, Brad Burnam, and Gunner Burnam.
