Coffee County sheriff’s officials are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 43-year-old man who was last seen Jan. 18. Shawn Wayne Brooker is described as a white male, approximately 6’1″, 190 lbs., with blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has a tatoo on his uper right arm of a “T” and a black tiger on his upper right chest. Brooker was last seen wearing light color blue jeans, a red/black reversible jacket, and black tennis shoes. Two people were arrested on methamphetamine and other charges Jan. 9 during an investigation of suspected drug activity occurring at the Douglas Inn motel. Authorities stated they approached a man identified as Kadeem Rashad Williams who was attempting to enter a room in which the investigation was focused. Officials stated Williams advised the detectives he had some drugs in his hand, determined to be methamphetamine, which he gave to detectives. An investigation into suspected illegal activity at a local motel resulted in the arrest of one person and the discovery of cocaine and other drugs last week. Coffee County sheriff’s officials stated the Douglas-Coffee Drug unit was performing surveillance in the area of 907 N. Peterson Ave. (Douglas Inn) due reports of suspicious activity centering on a room at the location. Detectives obtained permission to enter the room and found an individual identified as Shemeka Jackson sitting on the bed, allegedly in the process of rolling a marijuana cigarette and sprinkling suspected methamphetamine on the marijuana. The youth of Reedy Branch Baptist Church originally began a recent missions project with a goal of raising $3,000 to provide one water well to a Zambian community. This past Sunday, the group presented a $12 thousand check to Love Africa Mission, which will provide four wells to the economically-deprived region. A man who allegedly opened fire on two victims earlier this month at Roundtree Park has been identified and arrested by Douglas authorities. Police officials stated officers located and detained 25-year-old Markease Robinson at his home on Monday. Around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, Robinson allegedly approached two people at the park and fired on them before running off. Neither victim was injured during the incident. Robinson has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and reckless conduct. A man wanted in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in Alma last weekend has been arrested, officials reported Monday night. Alma Police Chief Michael Leslie stated 18-year-old Shawn Morgan turned himself in to authorities around noon Monday, Dec. 19. Morgan was being sought by police following an incident last Saturday in which a man was robbed at gunpoint while sitting at a stop sign. The Alma Police Dept. is looking for two individuals involved in separate incidents of violence over the weekend. Officials say an Alma man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning by three men while stopped at a stop sign on E. 5th St. The victim reported he was struck in the head with a handgun, and his wallet, containing $180 and several credit cards, was stolen. The victim identified two of his assailants as 17-year-old Jeremy Robinson and 18-year-old Shawn Morgan, both of Alma.
