Around 8 a.m. Sunday, a red Ford pickup crashed into the east side of the new city hall building. The driver lost his life in the accident. The vehicle was northbound on South Pearl Avenue traveling at a high rate of speed. It went airborne as it crossed the railroad tracks and landed sideways in Pearl Avenue. It skidded until it hit the sidewalk, which caused the vehicle to flip. The truck flipped several times and then struck the east side of city hall, causing cosmetic but no structural damage. Joey Anderson and David Spivey, both of whom were charged with embracery and jailed in connection with Justin Anderson’s November trial on murder, aggravated assault, making false statements to police, and tampering with evidence charges in connection with the January 1, 2020, death of Vann Brown, have been released on $50,000 bond. Their bonds were set Thursday and they were released Friday afternoon. Joey Anderson is Justin Anderson’s father. Sunday night, officers from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Coffee County EMA fished a brand new Kia out of Cat Creek on Highway 64 near Wilsonville. A crew in an ambulance transport was traveling on Highway 64 Sunday night when, as they crossed over the creek, noticed a car floating in the water. They turned around, calling for assistance in the process. Law enforcement and rescue crews responded quickly but by the time they arrived, the car had sunk to the bottom of the creek. No one was in the vehicle and there didn’t appear…
