Mrs. Marlene Ann Linkes Farmer, age 78 of Douglas, GA passed away Sunday morning, May 14, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Farmer was born January 1, 1945 to the late Ed Linkes and the late Nora Flynn Linkes. Mrs. Farmer was born of Cincinnati, OH but had moved to South Georgia, where she had lived for most of her life. She had worked in the office at Elixir for a number of years. At the regular session of the Coffee County Board of Education meeting on May 11, the board recognized Dr. Morris Leis for an award he recently received from GSSA. Dr. Leis received the 2023 Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) President’s Award.
