South Georgia State College (SGSC) is pleased to announce its annual commencement ceremonies honoring graduates from summer 2022, fall 2022 and spring 2023. The Douglas Campus ceremony will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 8:30 am on the Peterson Hall front lawn. The Waycross Campus ceremonies will be held Friday, May 12, 2023. The first ceremony will be at 12:30 pm, and the second at 7:00 pm, both in the Waycross Campus Gymnasium. A livestream of each event will be available on SGSC’s Facebook page for those unable to attend to share in the celebration. …
Dr. Paul Reese, owner of Cherokee Rose Fitzgerald, has gifted the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation North with $500. The donation will fund two $250 scholarships beginning Summer Semester for students on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus. To apply the student must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible. The scholarship was made possible thanks to the sponsors and participants of the War of Roses Powerlifting Competition held on Saturday, March 26 at Cherokee Rose. The board consists of six members, appointed to protect, promote, and preserve the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Georgia. They are responsible for the regulation of licensed optometrists in Georgia. Optometrists diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eyes, and associated structures, including the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
