Lauren Nicole Burke, 26, born on May 3, 1996 of Broxton, GA, passed away on May 25, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family and friends following her courageous battle with a rare cancer. Born September 20, 1959 Mrs. Paulk resided in Willacoochee where she loved her flower gardens, cooking, sewing, playing with grandkids and being in the serenity of her home. She devoted her life to God and her family with a true servant’s heart taking pride in caring for her family and others. It’s almost time for the 2022 edition of the Missoula Children’s Theater. This year’s production is Red Riding Hood, based on the Grimms’ fairy tale, and will take place at the CHS Performing Arts Center. The dates for this year are June 6-11. Auditions will be Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. Any student entering 1st grade in August is eligible. So the cast will include elementary, middle and high school students. Recently, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) held a Comprehensive Plan training session with the Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission at the Ashley-Slater House. The training session was conducted by Ebony Simpson, the Planning Outreach and Training Coordinator with DCA, during the regular meeting of the Planning Commission. By Kristen Kitchens Several individuals were indicted last week by a Coffee County Grand Jury, with a local man charged with one count of child molestation in an incident that allegedly occurred in September 2021. The copy of the indictment states the Grand Jury found enough evidence to indict Noel Bohorquez-Avendano for committing an immoral act on a minor under the age of 16.
