Married to Molly Ann Crews, he is predeceased by his previous wife Betty Jean Crews, his mother Ethel Crews, his father Lewis Crews, and three sisters: Sarah Howard (Isaiah), Susan Sigers (Ralph), and Daisy Mattox (Ernest). Rebecca Mims Butler, a nursing major from Hazlehurst, received the George P. Donaldson award at Thursday’s fall commencement ceremony at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The award honors the top associate degree graduate participating in the ceremony. The recipient receives a plaque and a check for $500 from the ABAC Alumni Association, which sponsors the award and conducts the interviews which lead to the selection of the recipient. George P. Operation Gucci, a months-long drug investigation in Douglas, resulted in the arrests of James Robinson and Demarcus Holland, both of Douglas, on a variety of drug charges. Another investigation yielded two more arrests. Operation Gucci began in June and focused on the residence at 915 Martin Luther King Drive.
