Donald Brian Chybicki, age 61, of Baxley, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Chybicki was born on February 10, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Edward Joseph and Florence Chybicki. Mr. Chybicki worked as a Production Line worker for ElKay Sinks and was a member of Macedonia Church of God, Baxley, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Sandra Kay Chybicki and 2 nephews, Keith “Biskit” Chybicki and Johnathan Monroe Dykes. The City of Douglas will join 537 cities across Georgia to celebrate Georgia Cities Week. In collaboration with Georgia Cities Week, the City of Douglas will kick off their annual October promotions. To kickoff initiatives for October, the Public Works Department will offer Tire Amnesty Week that will be held on Monday, October 3 – Friday, October 8, 8:30am-4:30pm. The City of Douglas held a Citizen Academy Workshop on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at the Youth Center. The goal of the workshop was to provide participants with the tools and information to become more knowledgeable about city department operations. Junior Mayor, Jenna Williams, was chosen as the Youth Spotlight for September. Jenna is the daughter of Gina and Marvin Williams. They wrapped the region schedule last week winning 2 out of 3 games, defeating rival Ware County 6-4 and throttling Warner Robins 15-3. Veterans nipped Coffee 3-1 on the road.
