Wiregrass vice president named to National Board for Concurrent Enrollment Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s Dual Enrollment program has been a leader on both state and national levels in the concurrent enrollment field. In 2018 the college received official accreditation by the Accreditation Commission of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), making the college the first in Georgia to earn NACEP accreditation for their Concurrent Enrollment program. Breast cancer screening event a success Coffee Regional Medical Center hosted a free breast cancer screening event for women in South Georgia in October to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The purpose of this event was to encourage women to be vigilant about breast health, to take the proper steps to complete routine breast screening, and, if at risk or age 40 and above, provide a referral for a diagnostic mammogram. Mr. Randy S. Vo, age 52 of Douglas, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2019, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. After a two day trial, Amanda Jacobs Coleman was found guilty of the murder of two-year-old Brooklyn Aldridge by a Coffee County jury. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney John Rumker with Judge Andy Spivey presiding over the proceedings. The evidence presented at trial showed that law enforcement and emergency responders were dispatched to the residence of Ron Lott and his girlfriend, Amanda Coleman, on the evening of March 6, 2018.
