Becky’s Gifts under new ownership On Friday, April 5, 2019, the Douglas-Coffee County community celebrated the grand opening of Becky’s Gifts, under new ownership by Jeannie Amerson and Tedica Roberson. To help celebrate the occasion several friends and relatives were in attendance. Pastor Chris Watson from GracePointe Church shared words of encouragement and prayed for God’s continued blessings over Becky’s Gifts. School system to host summer meal program The Coffee County School Nutrition Program will operate the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) through the National School Breakfast and School Lunch Program. Through this program, meals are served free of charge to children 18 years and under at designated Summer Feeding sites. The school system would like to partner with you in making sure children in Coffee County are fueled for fun this summer. Two people were charged with trafficking marijuana last week after Coffee County drug agents discovered over 20 pounds of processed marijuana and numerous other THC-infused products inside a Douglas residence. Authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Marshall and Kalene Grue on North McDonald Avenue on Wednesday, March 27. As a result, agents uncovered an array of THC products, including 20-plus pounds of processed, high-grade marijuana, over 100 vials of THC-infused vaping oil, and a significant quantity of hash, a drug made from the resin of the cannabis plant.
