The Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee held a workshop on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at City Hall. The workshop was aimed at KDB officials and code enforcement personnel and led by 423 Law Enforcement Officer Scott Carroll. 423 Law Enforcement is an organization based in Georgia that provides training for law enforcement officers in environmental law enforcement, including issues related to litter and illegal dumping. The Douglas Mayor’s Youth Council (DMYC) and Douglas-Coffee County Teen Court programs are currently seeking youth volunteers for the 2025-2026 school term. Both programs aim to develop leadership skills within our youth community. An 18-year-old from Douglas was arrested, jailed, and released on bond after he allegedly ran through a fence while driving under the influence, tore the bumper off his Lexus GS350, then fled the scene.
