FBLA’s advisers, Barlow Paulk and Kelly Gilliard, took seven officers to Swainsboro High School to prepare them for their specific duties and responsibilities. In addition, they had the opportunity to develop a stronger officer team through chapter strategic planning and share similar ideas with other neighborhood chapters. Coffee 4-H Alumni Nathan Cooper was a 4-H camp counselor at Camp Jekyll this year. Nathan’s Coffee 4-H family is incredibly proud for Nathan stepping out his comfort zone to become a counselor and fully embracing camp (and island) life. The Douglas Police Department is excited to unveil its Tesla Model Y test program. Coffee County Schools and the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority (EDA) recently attended the Foundational Leadership & Entrepreneurial Experience (FLEX) Implementation Workshop. This workshop marks the official launch of their participation in the program for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. At this month’s Veterans Park Committee Meeting, the Committee presented a $250 check to Wreaths Across America. Ed Coleman, Veterans Park Committee Chair, presented the check to Debra Woods, Commander American Legion Post 515. Others present were Jerome Loving, American Legion Post 515 and Coffee County Wreaths Across America Coordinator, and Dr Carl McDonald, Veterans Park Committee Vice Chair.
