Miss Louise Patricia Hanna, age 97, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Manor House. Miss Hanna was born on February 24, 1920, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Mose Hanna and Rosa Nuthea Hanna. Miss Hanna was a life-long member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she served as sacristan for more than 60 years. She was a pillar of the church. Monday evening, Jan. 8, the Alma Police Department arrested two wanted fugitives in separate incidents. Following a traffic stop on W. 12th St, Ashley Leanna Green, 28 of Waycross, was found to be wanted in both Appling and Bacon counties on theft charges. After a second traffic stop, on N. Pierce St, Christopher Dickerson, 32 of Alma, was charged with driving with a suspended license, an equipment violation, and discovered to be wanted in Appling County on bench warrants. Registration for Color Run now open. The Okefenokee Heritage Center is proud to host the Third Annual Color Run. “The Color Run is a great community event for a good cause,” Nancy King said. “The money raised provides scholarships and supplies for our Youth Art Camp over the summer.” There will be two runs on March 31st, a 5k and a 1 mile fun run.
