Mrs. Debra Kay Stokes, age 58, of Ambrose, GA passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Candler County Hospital. Mrs. Stokes was born July 4, 1959, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Etheridge Davis and Nora Sue Cobb Davis. The James M. Dye Foundation on South Georgia State College’s (SGSC) Waycross Campus welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees at a recent meeting. The Foundation also recognized seven board members whose service ended June 30, 2017. Dave Callaway is the owner of Callaway Advertising in Waycross, which produces WAYCROSS Magazine. During the summer 2017 semester, 289 South Georgia State College students earned honors for exemplary academic achievement, according to Dr. Robert Page, vice president for academic affairs and student affairs.
