An investigation into drug activity at a local grocery store parking lot led to the arrest of a Douglas woman Wednesday on drug distribution charges. Agents with the Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit encountered 25-year-old Pamela Michelle Tanner while conducting an investigation at Harvey’s Supermarket, 901 W. Ward Street, in Douglas. During the investigation, agents discovered seven small packages of suspected marijuana packaged for sale. Tanner admitted to authorities she intended to sell the drugs and agents arrested her at the scene. Tanner was transported to the Coffee County Jail and subsequently charged with one count of possession of marijuana…

Coffee County’s new educational center, The Learning Coop, will be holding its grand opening on Tuesday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m. This event will include camp registration, sign-up for summer boxes, and a chance to meet “the chicks.” There will be door prizes and refreshments. The Learning Coop is owned by local educators: Tammy Bennett, Shelly Lott, and Jaime Taylor. Jennifer Paige Miller, 43, of Douglas, was jailed Thursday after ripping a telephone from a wall as a 67-year-old victim was attempting to contact emergency services. Coffee County Deputies initially responded to a residence off E.L. Curtis Road in reference to a disorderly female subject. Miller told authorities she and the other individual had gotten into a verbal altercation that ultimately led to the victim locking herself in a bedroom at the home. Mrs. Paulk was born July 1, 1946 to the late Aubrey Lott and the late Jean Royal Vickers Lott.
