Laura Laine Herndon, age 49, of Saint Simons Island, GA passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at her residence. Miss. Herndon was born on January 13, 1967, in Douglas, GA to the late John Wesley Herndon and Elaine Meeks Herndon. Survivors include: her brother, Drew (Tammy) Herndon of Douglas, GA; niece, Lindsay Herndon of Cartersville, GA; and special friend, Sandra Sams. Steve Harrell was the speaker at the Douglas Kiwanis Club meeting Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the Flyin’ Cowboy restaurant. Mr. Harrell spoke to the club about catching catfish, the various sizes of fish he has caught, and the many methods of catching them. He has been spotlighted on Georgia Outdoors on PBS stations.
