Rey Del Toro, Lt. Governor for Plains and Coastal Division of Circle K in Georgia and past president of Circle K at ABAC, was the speaker at the Douglas Kiwanis Club meeting Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Flyin’ Cowboy restaurant. The school year has gotten off to a great start in Coffee County Pre-K, and students are learning and adjusting to their first year of school. Eastside students in Ms. Beverly Barbaree, Mrs. Susan Carver and Mrs. Paige Williams’ classes recently enjoyed their “first” ride on a Coffee County school bus. The students learned important bus safety rules and are prepared and ready to take an educational field trip adventure soon. South Central Primary Care Center Inc. is providing Pearson, GA with a new up to date and spacious health care center. On Wednesday, August 10, 2016 South Central Primary Care hosted a grand opening to celebrate their new clinic located at 640 N. Main Street. The City of Douglas and Transwaste are offering a residential Junk Drop-Off Day in August to help citizens get rid of excess trash. The upcoming date will be Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Wheeler Park, located at West Gordon Street, from 8 a.m. to noon. A dumpster will be placed at this location to offer residents a way to dispose of large, non-hazardous items and electronic items at no cost.
