Douglas City Commissioner Olivia Pearson was elected to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) during the association’s annual meeting in Savannah June 28. Pearson will serve as First Vice President of GMA’s 11th District. The Satilla Regional Library System welcomed a special guest reader, Dr. Heather (Johnson) Massung of Lindsay and Wills Animal Hospital, to the Douglas-Coffee County Public Library on Monday. Dr. Heather read the story I Want to Be A Veterinarian by Michaela Muntean. Dr. Heather talked about what she does as a veterinarian and about the different kinds of veterinarians for different kinds of animals. Children ages five to 15 can visit the WWII Flight Training Museum starting Saturday, June 27 through Saturday, September 5 to complete a children’s activity guide called the Jr. Cadet Flight Activity Passport and be entered in a drawing to win a ride in a T-34B airplane.
