The City of Douglas Mayor and Commissioners have approved a new sidewalk café ordinance for the downtown district. Restaurants located in the downtown district may now apply for a sidewalk café license with the City of Douglas Code Enforcement Office. Sharon Williams, administrative and technical assistant for South Georgia State College’s (SGSC) Waycross campus library, is one of four recipients of the Georgia Library Association’s (GLA) Paraprofessional Award for 2014. The $250 award will facilitate Williams’ attendance this October at the 2014 Georgia Conference of Media Organizations – the GLA’s annual convention – in Augusta.
