Mrs. Dora Ann Stone Dean, age 73, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully Friday night, April 24, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Dora was born June 15, 1952, in Lumber City, Georgia to the late Icie Daniels Stone and Joseph Allen Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Randall Dean, and two brothers, Charles Stone, and Wayne Stone.
Dora retired from Wal-Mart after fifteen years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flowers, loved to go fishing, enjoyed picking up pecans, and she was also a wonderful seamstress and loved making blankets. She was a dedicated member of Heaven Bound Ministries where she enjoyed her church family and serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dora leaves a large family legacy which are her children: Charles Lindy Wayne Guernsey and wife Rev. Teresa Guernsey of Douglas, Georgia, Tammy Renee Thrift and husband Andrew of Kingsland, Georgia, Dan Guernsey and wife Melissa, and Keith Wooten all of Douglas, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Kermit Stone of Hazlehurst, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members.
A home-going celebration for Dora will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edison Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery. Ryhan Creamer, Blake Creamer, Clint Williams, Billy Dean, Jody Stone, Michael Deal, Timothy Stone, Danny Lopez, Darrell Creamer and Cody Stone will serve as pallbearers.
Dora’s family will be receiving friends Sunday Afternoon, April 26, 2026, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel.
