On Wednesday, July 12, an officer responded to a home on Tippin Drive after a 911 call was made in reference to threats between Deandre Clements, 34, and another individual. According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, Clements had allegedly threatened to “spray his house.”
According to the report, a witness informed the officer that Clements came into the yard from behind the home and started yelling and cursing at the individuals on the property. This witness also stated that Clements then proceeded to pull out a gun and point it at an individual that was in the yard. When questioned on scene by an officer, Clements reported he did come from behind the house because that is how he gets to a relative’s home. As stated by Clements in the report, three individuals began walking towards him as he came on to the property from behind the house.
He reported that these individuals were yelling and cursing at him which made him feel threatened. However, the report states that Clements did not say if he had a gun or not at the time of the incident and no gun was recovered. The report also says that upon arrival, the officer was made aware that Clements allegedly put a gun in a silver SUV and that the SUV drove off as the officer was talking to witnesses.
Deandre Clements was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another. He was taken to the Coffee County Jail but has since been released.
