James L. Taylor, age 76, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born on June 30, 1949, the son of Mr. Leon Caris Taylor and Mrs. Doris Taylor.
He loved his place at the Ocmulgee river. He camped there, fished there, and grilled all the time. Also, Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts were celebrated there. He loved his children and grandkids so much, he loved taking them to the river and ocean fishing when his health was better.
He attended Sunnyside Baptist Church in Pearson, GA. On Father’s Day, he won the prize for having the most family on a pew- two years in a row! He loved his dogs, Kojack, Zeus, and Belah. He had so many dogs over the years. There’s a tree on top of the hill in the front yard where our dogs lived a wonderful life and were buried there.
